Patriarchy sucks.

The truth is, Sugu, Pavithra and Will Smith are all victims of patriarchy.

Sugu was taught to be the breadwinner, to be the provider of the family, to be the man, THE MAN. Growing up with non-fluid gender roles will damage people.

Will never justify Sugu's behavior but do understand that his ego got hit because he's fragile, he's hurt due to the gender roles assigned by the society.

And poor Pavithra has to dim her lights. When society laud the idea of 每个成功的男人，背后都有一个伟大的女人, why society is so hard-pressed on accepting it the other way round?

Normalize 每个成功的女人，背后都有一个伟大的男人。Or simply 每个成功的女人。She can receive all the awards and be happy, together or alone.

People criticized feminists for not pushing Jada harder and felt despaired when Will Smith became a meme.

I will admit, if Will Smith is the one cheating on a younger woman (friend's of Willow), he's doomed even he and Jada was on a break when the 'entanglement' occurred.

Will Smith became a meme because the way society has constructed. Man must stand up for themselves, man must be strong. THE MASCULINE MAN must overcome this. If he's unhappy, break off whatever entanglement he has with Jada and date someone new.

But he doesn't. Instead, he sat on the red table and listened, though how ridiculous it may be.

You wanna blame someone? Blame the media to find this piece of news is not sensational enough. Blame August who spilled the beans years after, released a diss track, at the same time only received little scrutiny. Blame the society, patriarchy in nature, for thinking men's mental health is something funny to make memes and joke about.
